Yeah, I am often dissatisfied where I am but I recognize the truth that it's only because I'm focusing on things of the earth and not eternity. The things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of His glory and grace... If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.Col 3. This is hard to do unless the things of earth are snatched out from under us...like someone who pulls a chair out too far on purpose so we'll fall and land hard on our butt. Not funny and it makes us mad at first, yet it has us not take things for granted like the chair will always be there. We can choose to be synical or choose gratitude and thanksgiving for everything, even the whining children (they could die) or bad job (no job at all). The fruit that comes from losing so much is a deeper gratitude and desperation for Gods "things", but sometimes in panic and fear, (I admit) I hope He won't allow any more to be snatched away. This world of Christians and non-believers alike are too comfortable, too spoiled. Be grateful for clean water, Florida air conditioning and enough food. Anything else is just mercy. And yes, it is just for now because maybe, just maybe He will allow the chairs to be pulled out from under you (in part) to teach the lesson of dependency on Christ alone. Only in heaven is where we will be truly satisfied. Spoken in love and the fear of God, one of your posse pals.

In these situations, God is looking for our willingness to do what is before us... Not only the willingness to do what we need to do, but most importantly our attitudes about it. Over and over the words "it's not just about you (meaning me) resounds loud and clear in my heart. This is about God's plan and how he needs us to be the divine appointment and divine connection others have been praying for. So, God answers our prayers with the obedience and cooperation of others and we have to be willing to do the same. We are "bridges" of blessings. We need each other so God's plan for us... To do what we need to do, go where we need to go and be who God wants us to be can be fulfilled in our lives. He is afterall realigning and readjusting every part of our lives for such a time as this...

Thanks Kathy - good reminder. Keep telling me. He has a plan, even if I totally don't get where it is going.
