I want you to think about the promises and dreams God or angels have whispered to you. Seriously. What has God whispered to you, and like Mary you treasured up in your own heart?
In reading the Christmas story I wondered how is it that Mary was able to respond to the angel and her cousin Elizabeth with such faith, while the rest of us are struggling to hold onto our dreams? Maybe there is something wrong with our believers. If that is true, how do we fix them?
You see everything hinged on Mary. If she had refused to believe what the angel had whispered to her, who would have carried the Christ? If you don’t believe what God has whispered to you, who will birth your dream? My friend Jonathan says it well in his new book Living a Legacy, “How many people’s success hinges on your breakthrough?”
These dreams/promises are not just about us. There is always a greater purpose. In Lisa Bevere’s book Lioness Arising she says, “God is inviting you and me to be part of a hunt. As we seek and pursue him, we will find the wisdom and answers we need. In a world torn apart by divorce and emotional detachment, we need heaven-breathed friendships and strategic relationships. . .In this hunt I need other women who understand my strengths and undergird my weaknesses—and so do you.” When my believer isn’t working, I need to rely upon my friends who can undergird me with their faith. You see, because Mary believed, she conceived.
We need to believe.
We must visualize, verbalize and then it will materialize (that’s a Friank thought). But if our believer isn’t working, we need to call upon our friends who can believe on our behalf until we are able to believe for ourselves.
You see, what the angel whispered to Mary, Mary had to roar out at Christ’s birth. We are responsible to birth the dream God has whispered to us. Have ears to hear the whispers and a voice ready to roar your dream, and if you find yourself lacking faith, social media your way to the pride of friends who will speak faith into you until you are able to carry the dream for yourself.
